Viori Shampoo Bars Review

Over the years being a salon owner and working in the hair industry for well over 10 years a lot has changed with hair products and what we look for when buying. My relationship with hair products has changed dramatically and I have now come to a place of satisfaction and optimal results with little hair products.

Working in the industry I used, sampled, and tried many professional and drug store hair products and have realized that having curly hair does not mean you need to buy more hair products. Curly hair is frizzy, dry naturally, and deals with a lot of maintenance but if you incorporate these settle changes in your routine I am confident your curls will thank you.

Use what you already have at home

I have been guilty of buying products before actually really finishing the products I already have in my cabinet. So to reduce cost, and complicate your curly hair routine I would suggest finding a routine that simplifies the process and keeps it consistent. When I introduce new products more times than not I end up with subpar results and optimal curl definition.

Reducing Plastic

During the pandemic, I had to cut costs reduce the money I was spending on my beauty products, and look at other forms of maintaining my hair with minimal spending. It was my first time trying shampoo Bars and I was ecstatic with the results and how much more shampoo bars lasted. It also was eco-friendly making me feel a lot better about my self-care choices.

Kitchen Cabinet

Over the years I have also reduced my shampooing to two times a month and incorporated a co-wash and this with pre-poo has dramatically reduced frizz and increased moisture retention. I pre-poo with Jojoba oil and Olive Oil, I tend to stay away from coconut as it has protein and over time can stiffen the hair. My hair is natural so I don’t need that much protein.

Acv Cleansing

My partner has dreadlocks and I have taught myself natural ways to cleanse the hair without adding any oils and neutralizing the scalp from build-up and itchiness. For him, I do a baking soda and acv soak to make sure his locks are shiny and his scalp is relieved from buildup. You could add essential oils to eliminate the ACV smell I like to use peppermint.

Sleeping with a Silk Scarf or Bonnet

One thing I know for sure is to have long-lasting curls you must incorporate nighttime care for your curls. It avoids frizzing and dry tangled spots. I can almost get away with two weeks without washing or rewetting my hair. Alternatively, you can also invest in a silk pillowcase.

Refreshing Curls

When I have to touch up my hair or refresh curls in certain areas I use As I Am Castor Oil Spray Water. It’s purified and has the ingredients to add moisture and elasticity to the curls and a good base before adding your leave-in or styling products.

Ingredients

When my hair is like something I stick with it as much as I can from beginning to end. That means looking for the ingredients and creating continuity from when I cleanse my hair to the last step of styling. Here are some ingredients I use multiple times in different forms of products:

ACV

Castor Oil

Peppermint Oil

Avocado Oil

Rice Water

Jojoba Oil

What’s New

Currently, I still have some products that come in plastic bottles like my leave-in and styling products. My cleansing products are all-natural and come in bar form. I enjoy the bar shampoo and conditioners as I feel like it has not compromised my hair in any way. I still get a good lather without over-drying and my hair feels soft and thankful.  If you have been holding back from getting Hair products in bar form because your hair is curly my recommendation would be to give it a go, as now there are more shampoo bars in the market than ever, and some specifically for the needs of curly hair girls.

Here is a list of products I’ve tried over the years and think you should consider when buying your sustainable eco-friendly hair products:
